  • ​This job is a member of the Cabin Aviation Safety Action Program team within Operations Safety.
  • Responsible for performing analysis of operational data to identify potential discrepancies within Cabin Safety programs, performs risk and root cause analysis, interfaces with Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the identification of the root cause of system deficiencies within Cabin Safety programs, and evaluates current processes and procedures for effectiveness.

What you'll do

  • Provides support for American Airlines Cabin Safety Action Program. Assists with projects and process studies for the Cabin  ASAP to promote Safety in preventing accidents and incidents while enhancing Company policy and FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation) compliance
  • Processes daily Cabin ASAP reports and track data and analysis for the weekly Event Review Committee (ERC) meetings
  • Identifies trends and  Cabin safety concerns arising from the ASAP program
  • Prepares Cabin Safety data trending analysis reports and charts for AA updates
  • Develops and distributes FAA Quarterly Reports
  • Creates Event Review Committee (ERC) Agendas for weekly meetings
  • Gathers and updates meeting minutes for the ERC
  • Participates/Interacts and Interfaces with FAA and labor union members of the ERC
  • Develops safety materials including power point presentations to represent the department in meetings as required
  • Interfaces with other departments as necessary for research or information sharing purposes
  • Interfaces with Flight Service, APFA, and FAA
  • Events Research and Analysis trending for Flight Service
  • Gathers/ Develops data for Flight Service Data Analyst Working Group and supports SMS processes
  • Conducts follow-up analysis to ensure compliance with and tests the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, or aviation related field or equivalent experience in air carrier maintenance, quality assurance or operations
  • Experience in metrics, development of Dashboards and data analysis
  • 3 years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Skilled in the use of MS Office (with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint), SABRE, CERS, and WBAT or similar complex database system
  • Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Company policies and Cabin safety procedures
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to self-manage time schedule
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with the Union and various levels of management

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and changing deadlines
