This job is a member of the AAdvantage Co-Brand Team within the Customer Loyalty & Insights Organization. This position will be responsible for the strategy, management and growth of the Barclays credit card partnership.  Responsibilities will vary from identifying unique customer marketing and retention campaigns to working with our data teams on customer segmentation analyses to identifying new ways to further integrate the Barclays card into the AAdvantage program. 

What you'll do

  • Manages the Barclays relationship on a daily basis and collaborates extensively with internal departments throughout American Airlines
  • Partners with Barclays to plan and develop strategies for achieving full-year business objectives
  • Develops, executes, and analyzes marketing programs to grow market share, increase loyalty, and retain cardmembers
  • Conducts financial performance analysis including effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of credit card marketing campaigns and programs
  • Analyzes historical trends and customer behavior, and develops models to segment and target customers to grow marketing share
  • Conducts a detailed review of Barclays marketing collateral and liases with internal parties to provide feedback on legal and strategic fit
  • Supports portfolio operations including day-to-day contact with Barclays, technical and operational project management, key indicator tracking, and invoice approvals
  • Projects involve quantitative and qualitative analysis that require developing recommendations to present to executive leadership
  • Interacts frequently with Digital, Marketing, Revenue Management, Legal and AAdvantage Customer Service
  • Responsible for project management including coordination and communication both internally and externally
  • Some travel may be required ​​​​

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in business or marketing
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, craft strategy and take such strategy towards completion
  • Innovative problem solver who can take an idea from concept to execution
  • Comfortable with managing, executing and actioning complex analytical exercises involving large, multi-faceted data sets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in relationship management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in a strategic role
  • Experience in the financial industry, particularly in the credit card industry
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills with the ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Customer-focused, highly-analytical, thinks creatively, and is persuasive with internal and external stakeholders
