Under general supervision of the Deposit Supervisor and working in a team environment, the Deposit Associate compiles cash and checks in preparation for deposit; verifies cash and checks received with deposit documents to determine accuracy of cashier deposit bags; prepares deposit materials for entry into the PeopleSoft system; maintains backup documentation of deposits for reconciliation purposes; operates cash counting and related equipment; complies with university and Student Life policies and procedures; receives and disburses deposits to armored car courier for bank delivery; researches deposit discrepancies; documents issues/resolutions and follows-up on deposit issues until fully resolved for Student Life operations which includes 27 diverse Student Life operations at the Columbus and regional campuses with over 400 funds, approximately 200 organization codes, and an annual budget of approximately $200,000,000; maintains metrics and monitors/provides reports for measuring effectiveness and status toward achieving strategic goals; this position is categorized as Administrative & Professional, unclassified, is a 40/52 reduced appointment and will be regularly scheduled for 30 hours per week.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience; previous cash handling experience.
Experience with accounting systems and fiscal procedures; knowledge of university's policies and procedures; experience using MS Windows (Word, Excel, Access, Explorer) and eReports.
