Assists and supports the Chair of the Department of Human Sciences in providing effective leadership, administrative oversight, and communication within the departments and school; provides broad range of administrative support to the Chair encompassing faculty, staff, students, alumni, university officials, and stakeholders by coordinating the areas budget and human resources goals and objectives and conveying decisions, directives, and information; maintains in-depth knowledge of administration’s activities and priorities and takes the lead in establishing administrative procedures; prepares administrative reports to help inform and guide administrative decision-making; supervises the units program support staff; coordinates follow-up on action items to ensure that deadlines are met; composes correspondence in response to requests and questions; schedules and supports meetings, special events, and projects; manages Chair's calendar and travel; represents the departments/school to internal and external constituents; prepares memos, reports, presentations, and newsletters; researches information; coordinates the preparation of nomination packages for faculty and staff awards; oversees maintenance of Chair's office files, both hardcopy and electronic, and website; troubleshoots and resolves problems; maintains high level of discretion in handling confidential matters; represents the Chair in a professional manner.
Master’s degree in higher education, business administrative, or another relevant field; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook); comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies and practices.
Target Salary: $42,000.00 - $50,004.00 Annually
