Advertised Summary Job Description: The Director will report to the Senior Director of CUMC Events, Office of CUMC Events, and will work closely with the administration, faculty, staff, and special guests who are associated with a variety of campus-wide institutional events. The Director will manage all logistical aspects of the production and management of a variety of events, including programs for the Executive Vice President and Dean's Office, including the Dean's Distinguished Lecture series as well as endowed lectures and dinners; assist with commencement ceremony, memorial services, holiday parties, building openings, and other events as they arise. The Director will manage the coordination of arrangements for guest speakers and visitors, including travel, car services, AV needs, expense reimbursement, etc. The Director will develop and maintain event services, and act as a resource for vendor recommendations (i.e. caterers, florists, printers, promotional items, venues, etc.). The Director will manage event calendars, budget templates, conference room reservations, mailing lists.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously; be exceptionally well organized and have focus and attention to detail. Must be able to project timelines, manage budgets and meet all deadlines. Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Excel and Access necessary. Excellent interpersonal, public relations, communications and diplomatic skills essential. Background in a university and/or academic medical center is desirable.
