The Physician Billing Department is seeking a Supervisor. The Supervisor is responsible for supervising clerical staff comprised of 10-15 employees including Group Leaders and Insurance Specialists. They will supervise all activities related to the daily operations of the Insurance Team, and give and receive information with professionalism and respect in order to promote a cohesive operation and group. The Supervisor will also be looked to for enthusiasm in promoting and inspiring cooperation and creating synergy and collaboration towards team goals.
Monitors and responds to the Team’s daily operations to ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments and responsibilities. They also must coordinate and facilitate monthly team and carrier meetings.
Assumes responsibility in making operational decisions while keeping the Manager informed. Suggests and implements innovative changes to processes when applicable in order to improve results.
Recruits, evaluates and hires candidates for Group Leader and Insurance Specialist vacancies.
Responsible for monitoring assigned account receivable for aging and trending issues that arise.
Trains and orients new and existing staff members on updated and new departmental policies and procedures. Provides feedback to the Manager on new employee’s performance and job knowledge.
Provides support and guidance to Group Leaders; manages appropriateness and prioritization of Group Leader’s assigned tasks to ensure that they are able to respond to staff questions in a timely fashion; encourages development and offers guidance in responding to staff questions, issues.
Knowledge of third party reimbursement helpful;
A Bachelor's Degree and project management experience preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of supervision experience and minimum of 3 years experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; strong analytical skills required.
Sound judgment and diplomacy required to respond to critical operational and challenges.
Must be able to set priorities and utilize good problem solving skills.
