University of Washington Tacoma Equity and Inclusion currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Support Supervisor I. This position will contribute to the mission of Equity and Inclusion by developing an environment of continuous improvement, pursuing innovation, and delivering world- class customer service.
The Program Support Supervisor I:
Assists in developing annual signature programs such as, the Annual Diversity Summit, Native American Symposium, Multicultural Celebration, and Safe Zone Trainings.
Oversees the Services and Activities Fee Committee (SAFC) budget; monitors and reconciles in accordance with UW and State policies and guidelines.
Advises students, staff and faculty regarding educational enrichment program planning, opportunities, and related policies and procedures.
Establishes priorities and ensures deadlines are met.
Manages data and prepares reports related to participants' engagement and retention.
Hires student assistants, establishes performance standards, evaluates job performance, provides training, creates schedules and approves timesheets, ensures accuracy, recommends corrective action. Supervises student assistants to include planning of projects, events, shift coverage, scheduling, and training development. Ensures staff coverage for the Center and the Pantry during hours of operation.
Works with campus partners and other C&I staff to develop cultural awareness activities and trainings for student assistants throughout the academic year.
Creates, publishes and distributes relevant publications and promotional literature; daily and weekly program announcements using a variety of modes of communication such as, campus email, list-serves, Facebook, biogs, texting, and twitter, fliers, campus TV ads, and press releases for programs and services related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Manages the webpage providing efficient and effective online internal communication with students, staff and faculty. Regularly updates the web page and works with students, staff and faculty to maximize the website as both a recruitment tool and also as a marketing tool for programs and services. This includes but is not limited to developing links to community resources, campus and community partners, and other appropriate higher education and business/industry websites.
Participates in professional development opportunities related to supervision, management, etc.
THE PANTRY Supervision the Pantry: The Pantry exists on campus year round to provide access to free food and hygiene items to currently enrolled UWT students. The CEI partners with FISH Food Bank to purchase food items and hosts campus food and hygiene.
The Program Support Supervisor designs and implements all aspects related to Pantry operations to include, data collection, establish and refine procedures to obtain food, supervise budget expenditures and budget reconciliations, building and maintaining community partnerships (FISH Food Bank, UWT Alumni Association), as well as, networking on-campus partnerships for sustainability. Develops promotional materials and social media outlets such as, fliers, brochures, Facebook and Instagram.
High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of applicable experience to include public contact, customer service, event and space scheduling or equivalent.
Proficiency with various computer systems.
Demonstrated success working with diverse populations.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
