Charles Wright Academy is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1957, the school enrolls 680 students in grades junior kindergarten through twelve. We are located in a suburban neighborhood southwest of Tacoma, approximately one mile from Puget Sound and within the shadow of Mt. Rainier.

The position begins on August 1, 2017, and is a full-time, one-year, exempt appointment with some evenings and weekends required. The Admissions Associate will report to the Acting Director of Admissions. Serving as a positive, professional ambassador for the school, the Admissions Associate will work with families as a partner and resource while they are exploring CWA.
Responding to inquiring families via phone, email, and in person meetings with promptness, warmth, and a high degree of personal care. Identifying students who can be served well by our school’s mission and program.
Providing engaging campus tours to individual families and groups, introducing the value of a Charles Wright education with energy and enthusiasm, and helping families to see themselves as members of our community.
Managing and implementing both admissions visit events and community events, increasing awareness of and interest in CWA.
Collaboratively coordinating student and parent volunteer support of daily visits and events alongside the faculty throughout the campus community.
Communicating through social media, event tools, and our inbound marketing platform to promote events and share stories exemplifying the CWA experience.
Utilizing technology tools, including the Veracross student information system, generate reports, track applicants, plan applicant cultivation, and coordinate admissions activities.
Supporting admissions committees.
Assisting with the retention and reenrollment of current CWA students/families.
Engaging current CWA families to help identify and refer potential new students.
Assisting with other duties as required.
1-3 years of admissions counseling experience in an educational setting (experience within an independent school is preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to collaborate with a small team
Love of learning and sense of humor
Commitment to diversity and inclusion with strong sense of cultural competency
Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
Essential computer skills (Word, Excel, admissions database experience, Google suite)
Demonstration of self-reliance and an ability to work independently and collaboratively
