Description: The Family Service Center seeks an individual to build organizational capacity and increase funding to meet expanding operational and programmatic needs. This person will build sustainable revenue streams and increase funding from individual donors, foundations, and corporate and governmental entities. This person will expand FSC’s community impact by leading partner cultivation, marketing and communications, and other outreach activities.
Develop and implement an organizational fundraising plan, and effectively support the executive director and board members in their fundraising and public relations responsibilities.
Cultivate and nurture donor relations (individual, foundation, government, corporate) through activities including annual mail appeal, grant writing and reporting, and personal solicitations.
Leverage donor database (Donor Snap).
Conduct outreach and build relationships within the communities FSC serves.
Enhance and leverage the online presence of FSC via social media platforms.
Represent FSC in professional and community organizations.
Coordinate and execute events including two annual fundraising events; an annual appeal campaign; coffees/cultivation and appreciation events; community requests/invitations; and speaker and advocacy events.
Supervise part time development assistant.
Provide support/backup in the office in areas such as telephone coverage, onsite coverage, etc.
This position requires 30 hours/week, salary commensurate with experience.
Strong organizational and time management skills for balancing competing priorities amid limited resources.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
Strong technology skills including proficiency in using WordPress, social media (Facebook, Twitter), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a willingness to learn new applications.Proficiency in Excel required.
Understanding of and commitment to FSC’s work and mission.

Family Service Center, located at 3545 Lake Avenue, Wilmette, Illinois, was founded in 1913 by a local women's club, churches, several community leaders, and local organizations with the goal of being at the center of helping local families. Family Service Center's core program, offering counseling services, traces its roots to 1930. Currently, with ten licensed clinical therapists on staff, the... agency serves over 2,200 people who live, work, worship, or attend school on the North Shore through individual therapy sessions, community presentations, crisis response, or school programs. Services are provided on a subsidized fee scale basis with over 90% of clients receiving subsidized sessions.
