The main purpose of the role is to develop and publish healthcare economic outcomes research individually and in collaboration with internal stakeholders, as well as leading health economists and clinicians. He/she will develop expertise in portfolio offerings, with detailed knowledge of disease, care management, guidelines, evidence and contribute to evidence development and planning activities. The incumbent will work closely with DIA infomatics and Real-World Data group, develop and maintain value models and market insights for existing and emerging technologies and market space.
Serving as an expert in economics and modeling, the incumbent will be available to support engagements with public and private health authorities globally, and participate within value-based assessments relevant to Roche Sequencing technology development and commercialization. He/she will leverage relationships within the industry, with academic leaders, payers, HTAs and others. Necessarily, the incumbent will be required to maintain strong understanding of economics and trends, which could influence predictive outcomes and insights offered by the employee. He/she will work in close collaboration with the Global Head of Market Access & Reimbursement, Life Cycle Leaders, Medical Affairs, Government & Public Affairs, Communications, as well as commercial functions. The individual will be a strong leader, with effective communication and influencing skills. He or she will secure the necessary support of regional and local affiliates, including subject matter experts, consultants and staff responsible for execution of relevant strategies.
Develop portfolio-relevant economic outcomes research and publication directly and in collaboration with leading academics, public/private health authorities.
Develop value models for use by BA and Affiliates in support of economic outcomes associated with treatments, RSS technologies and alternatives.
Collaborate with DIA, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs and others in the review of real world data, cost and volume expectations
Contribute to clinical evidence planning, development and publication, including parallel economic analyses which may be derived from clinical research
Deliver timely market access insights and trends affecting RSS technologies
Support the development of applications, HTA assessments, dossiers, and related tools associated with RSS technologies.
Work collaboratively with local affiliates in the training and development of market access models, educational forums and commercial programs
Support advisory board meetings and forums relating to market access and reimbursement

This position may or may not have direct reports. The Director of U.S. Market Access is expected to collaborate with others within and outside the global, regional and local Market Access & Reimbursement teams to ensure all functional and business objectives are satisfied.
§ 8+ years of experience in market access and reimbursement within the United States supporting diagnostics, medical device and / or pharmaceutical technologies
§ Masters, MD or PhD degree in life sciences, health economics, health services research, public policy, public health, outcomes research, epidemiology, biostatistics or a clinical discipline is required
§ Strong knowledge of market access, HTA reimbursement and pricing issues, policies and trends
§ Strong research and analysis skills, e.g., ability to undertake reviews of the scientific literature including clinical and economic outcomes research
§ Direct experience in working with real world data using large data, including detailed analyses and publication
§ Direct experience working with data Infomatic functions, academic organizations in the development of research and publications relating to economic outcomes and population health
§ Strong ability in the area of quantitative methods and statistics
§ Portfolio management skills and ability to objectively frame analyze and resolve trade-offs between projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with the English language, and an ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders in a positive manner
Experience in the development and distribution of tools, messages and programs that offer compliant education in support of Roche Sequencing technologies
Desirable to have experience in diagnostics, medical device and / or pharma in a similar role
Travel expectations are less than 10% per year, and may require travel within EMEA, APAC, LATAM and the American regions.
