University Advancement has an outstanding opportunity for a Communications and Media Editor(CME).This individual will work collaboratively with colleagues throughout University Advancement and University of Washington to ensure ACR and campus partners meet their broad-based-communication goals. The CME advises Advancement colleagues (business partners) on digital marketing and communications strategy. They plan, create and coordinate written and visual communications assets for a range of digital engagement platforms; these assets are deployed and implemented from University Advancement's Alumni and Constituent Relations (ACR) Office utilizing robust and customizable software programs for delivery, content management, and transactions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Broad Based Engagement Strategy Develop and implement communication strategies for ACR and partner UW units that drive broad-based engagement via digital platforms, cultivating a mobilized and engaged philanthropically-oriented community of 400,000 alumni, 125,000 donors and 57,000 Alumni Association members. Advise UW units on broad-based digital communication strategies and strategic outreach and engagement programs.
Communications Program Management Serving as one of ACR's subject-matter experts on marketing-automation, create and manage the production and maintenance of new and existing online and electronic communications assets of the UW Alumni Association (UWAA) UW Retirement Association(UWRA) and ACR. Responsibility includes creation of new and editing of existing webpages, defining and analyzing email campaign audiences, maintaining digital signage displays and working with electronic directories and databases.
Create and develop new and existing digital communication assets of UWAA, UWRA and ACR. Responsibilities include:
Coordinate social and promoted-search advertising campaigns in alignment with strategic marketing objectives. Translate marketing testing priorities into actionable A/B and end-user tests. Support an evolving, informed content strategy with clear measures of success.
Maintain metrics and develop reports on marketing vehicles. Create weekly updates to stakeholders and operators to improve communication performance, gauge campaign efficacy, and develop a holistic understanding of marketing performance across ACR teams.
Support ACR designers and content professionals in crafting compelling e-communications.
Support the ACR Data and Registration Coordinator with data integrity projects related to marketing operations.
Participate in occasional event-staffing duties at evening and weekend programming.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Digital Media and/or related field, and at least two years of experience in related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree.
Demonstrated skills, abilities and experience in digital engagement and/or digital communication, engagement, and/or related field, and with strong writing and editing skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in digital communications and marketing in an advocacy or mission-oriented setting such as an educational or not-for-profit organization.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with PC platform and Windows operating system and software.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, etc. Familiarity with and awareness of database platforms and technologies such as Microsoft Access, and building relational queries.

Knowledge of alumni relations/development/advancement principles.
Knowledge of UW Advancement policies and procedures, including use of the development database software ADVANCE.
Condition of Employment:
Cubical/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.
A valid Washington State driver's license is required to operate the UW Alumni Association Van.
Candidate selected must have personal transportation and be willing to travel when necessary.
Ability to travel out-of-state up to 10 times per year for events scheduled on evenings and weekends.
