Description: The Manager of Research Administration works in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Operations in a fast paced, world-class research and higher education institution, to set the overall growth trajectory of the School of Engineeringâ??s Research Office. The Manager develops, implements and communicates SoE procedures in tandem with University and sponsor related policies, regulations and procedures. The incumbent is the principal resource to faculty, staff and students and ensures a high level of service to faculty principal investigators regarding proposal preparation, budget development, university and sponsor reporting and grant management. The Manager is the primary liaison between the University and sponsors in the development, management and close out of sponsored projects; communicating pertinent information to faculty, students and staff. This position oversees the administrative supervision of research related finances and staff. Works collaboratively with the OVPR development specialist to identify funding opportunities for faculty. As requested, act for or represent the Director of Finance and Operations at SoE and University forums.
Bachelorâ??s degree in accounting or finance and 5 years related experience, including research administration, financial and supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Extensive and current knowledge of research compliance, pre-and post-award administration of research contracts and grants.
Excellent computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting, financial analysis and database management.
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with faculty and staff.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people
Strong customer service skills and able to be flexible and take initiative.
