The Administrative Assistant provides executive assistance to the Director of the Political Theory Project (PTP) and administrative support to the PTP academic and research programs and affiliated faculty, staff and students.Responsibilities include maintaining the Directorâ??s calendar, scholarly files, and travel planning; assisting in the planning and execution of programmatic events and lectures; providing web updates and daily office support; processing financial documents related to operating expenditures, vendor invoices, and travel reports for PTP scholars, student groups and faculty associates; and supporting teaching and course preparation.
High School Diploma and 3-5 years related work experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Proficiency in word processing required with spreadsheet and Excel experience highly desirable.
Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Experience as Executive Assistant preferred.
Criminal background check required
The Administrative Assistant is anticipated to work 25 hours per week across 12 months. Some flexibility may be possible. Also, some periodic additional hours during evening events may be necessary.
