LOCATION: JOHN H. STROGER HOSPITAL/ DEPARTMENT: PHYSICAL THERAPY
HOURS: 8:00AM - 4:00PM
Under the general direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, coordinates and manages system wide, day-to-day operations and services at all rehab facility sites and divisions. Sites include: John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital (JSH), Oak Forest Health Center (OFHC), Provident Health Center (PHC), Ambulatory & Community Health Network (ACHN), Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JDTC) and Cermak Health Center (CHS) with divisions to include: Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Audiology (AU). Provides oversight of site supervisors and provides remote or direct staff supervision in the absence of the site supervisors. Acts as a liaison to the Director of Rehabilitation Services and activities to ensure high quality, consistent, efficient, and effective Rehab Therapy operations throughout the Cook County Health & Hospitals System (CCHHS). Disseminates a shared vision, mission, goals and values for the Rehab Therapy Department that is consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of CCHHS. This position requires travel to work sites throughout the County of Cook.
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCHHS Personnel Rules.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program with current licensure in good standing as a Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois
(Master's degree in Physical Therapy required for new students enrolled on/during 1/1/2002-12/31/2014)
(Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy required for new students enrolled on/after 1/1/2015)
Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program with current licensure in good standing as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Illinois.
(Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required for new students enrolled on/after 1/2/2008)
Masters of Science or higher degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program with current licensure in good standing as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Illinois. Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association Valid licensure in good standing as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Illinois
Five (5) years of clinical experience in clinical area of expertise with at least three (3) years of experience in an acute care facility, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center/Teaching Hospital environment
Three (3) years of management experience in a health care setting
Three (3) years of experience supervising students in rehabilitation
Must possess an a Cardiovascular Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Must be able to travel to work sites throughout the County of Cook
Valid Illinois Driver's license and mandatory vehicle insurance as required in the State of Illinois (In accordance with the Code of Ordinances of Cook County, Illinois codified through Ordinance No. 16-0692, enacted February 10, 2016 (Supp. No. 32) § Sec. 2-673)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word)
Two (2) years of experience in clinical area of expertise in a Level I Trauma Center/Teaching Hospital Environment and two (2) years or more in an outpatient facility
Experience managing/supervising in a unionized workforce
Collaborative work experience with four rehabilitation professionals (OT,SLP, PT, Audiology)
Prior experience and basic knowledge of health regulatory agency and professional clinical organization requirements:Illinois Department Public Health (IDPH), Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (IDPR), Joint Accreditation Commission of Hospital Organizations (JACHO), American Disabilities Act (ADA), Occupational Safety Health Organization (OSHA), Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) HIPAA, American Speech Language and Hearing Association, (ASHA), American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
Prior experience and basic knowledge of therapy billing requirements: Center Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Health care and Family Services (HFS), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) International Classification of Disease (ICD) coding

Based on clinical division, this position may require various types of physical exertion including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, prolonged standing, moving patients and objects of moderate to very heavy weight and operating departmental equipment and/or other devises
