About the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine
The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine has a long history of providing innovative care for Iowa's children. The dedicated faculty and health care teams want to make a difference in the health of Iowa's children and families by bringing evidence-based medicine to every day practice and providing access to specialty care when needed. The division provides exceptional training to residents, medical students, and nurse practitioners who will lead pediatric care in the years ahead. The division also provides child protection services, palliative care, child advocacy and child policy, and promotes communication between families and physicians and day care providers and physicians.
Provide support for research for the Division of General Pediatrics by conducting investigations, evaluations and developing research plans. Will explore funding opportunities, assist in grant proposal preparation, submission, and operational support assuring compliance with UI policies, state and federal laws. Will help design and conduct research, including preparing IRB applications, creating consent documents, consenting subjects, data collection and analysis and manuscript preparation.

Prepare, navigate and administer grants and contracts
Write and develop grants
Manage grant project timeline and grant budgets
Monitor compliance with contract/ grant terms in accordance with University policies and state and federal regulations.
Organize and facilitate meetings/ events
Recruit research participants
Monitor research protocols
Conduct and oversee data collection, analysis and management as directed.
Be the liaison with external funding agencies related to supporting the research.
Analyze, monitor, and report financial data, information and reports to PI
May initiate and/or approve routine financial transactions.

Requires a Master's degree in Public Health or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Minimum 1-3 years' experience with healthcare research support
Previous experience using Dedoose, and/or Mendeley, R Statistical Software, STATA
Previous experience with manuscript and grant preparation
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience conducting newborn screening research
Prior supervisory experience is highly desired.
Previous experience using EPIC is highly desired.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
