This recently-established fully systematic hedge fund has been launched with the backing of one of the world largest asset managers and is looking to complement recent Trading and Research hires with an extensive build-out of its Technology team. The three founders are senior respected figures with many years of experience creating systematic strategies on the sell-side. Their offices are split between Hong Kong and Paris with the majority of quant traders and researchers in Hong Kong. The technology teams will be split roughly 50/50 between HK and Paris.
Looking for a number of Python developers and data software engineers, of varying levels of experience, to buid out the technology team.
Python developers will be working in Python 3 with Git, Pandas for algebraic calculations and should have a familiarity with Linux and, ideally, some financial experience (although the requirement for this varies with seniority). Developers will be working solely on front office trading tools (middle and back office systems are shared with the asset manager that is backing this fund) and will be interacting regularly with quant researchers and traders to understand their needs and build tools that directly affect the performance of the fund.
Data software engineers will be working with vary large financial data sets across asset classes and will be providing highly performant api's for the quant traders, using Python, Pandas, SQL and some statistics for data interrogation and sanity-checking. These roles will be working closely with quant traders to ensure that they have access to mission critical data, assist with the implementation of trading strategies and take an entrepreneurial approach towards sourcing new and potentially non-conventional data sets.
This firm is extremely forward-looking, entrepreneurial and flexible with a culture more akin to a fin-tech than a hedge fund. They encourage employees to champion new technologies that they are passionate about, use and contribute towards open source tools and are investigating the application of some cutting edge Machine Learning approaches. There is no beaurocracy and a very flat structure.
