This position reports to the GILS Regional Director (North America)
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to develop our recruitment activity in the US & Canada, with a focus on the East Coast. With responsibility for the development and management of new student recruitment channels, the post holder will be focused on the key markets of the US and Canada, working with educational institutions in each of these countries.
The role is a member of the dynamic Governments, Institutional Links and Sponsors (GILS) team within INTO’s Global Recruitment Unit (GRU). GILS relates to the changing landscape of international student recruitment, combined with the ambitious growth and diversity plans of INTO and our Partner Universities, and the need for INTO to invest in new channels of marketing, recruitment and operational delivery.
The primary focus of this position will be to directly manage, design and implement marketing and sales initiatives to impact INTO University Partnership’s growth on the East Coast of the USA and Canada.
You will be responsible for recruiting international students from the Eastern half of the USA and Canada for Direct and Pathway admission to INTO’s partner universities. This person will recruit students from an institutional links network of private high schools, private boarding schools, language schools, recruitment partners and sponsoring organizations; as well, the Regional Manager will target students for recruitment through advertising and marketing channels and events/seminars.
Key accountabilities and duties
This is an important role in a growing, dynamic organization. The following list of tasks are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities as the nature of our business requires all employees to be flexible, dynamic and to have the capacity to think creatively when presented with challenges.
In collaboration with the GILS RD (North America), develop an annual business plan to deliver on annual targets set during the Enrollment Budget process.
Initiate and actively grow and manage institutional relationships with the focus markets of the US and Canada. Ensure these institutions always receive appropriate training and customer service.
Lead on INTO’s Chinese social media campaign efforts to support the Chinese student community currently in the US
Identify and liaise with INTO’s Chinese social media team to promote program delivery by INTO and its subsidiaries.
Travel in the USA and Canada to visit institutions, high schools, and attend fairs/workshops. Provide Pathway and direct program counselling to prospective students.
Maximise product development opportunities with relevant educational institutions by training key contacts on INTO’s programs and services and selling INTO’s programs during school presentations, fairs, workshops, and at other venues.
Coordinate in-market visits from centres and other INTO stakeholders to maximise return on investment through increased quality applications and conversion thereof.
Analyze, recommend and present recruitment, marketing and networking opportunities.
Take responsibility for overall logistics and management of the regional marketing strategy, and assist colleagues with collateral creation, market research, due diligence and other related functions.
Conduct specific market research to propose and implement general strategic marketing strategies to increase INTO visibility in the US and Canadian market segments.
Closely liaise with key colleagues and departments to encourage an efficient, customer-centric approach to the process of working with institutions.
Ensure that Salesforce/CRM system is kept up-to-date with accurate institutional contact details, reports from events, campaigns, student enquiries and in-country visits.
Actively manage cost base to stay within budgeted levels and ensure accurate reporting requirements are met.
Exhibit excellent presentation and business writing skills.
Present a professional and positive image of INTO at all times.

This position is home-based. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work from a home-office and be reasonably close to a major international airport in the eastern half of the United States for convenient travel access.

Understanding of private/public partnerships within higher education sector
Demonstrable success in business development
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, as well as superior presentation skills to non-native English speakers
Experience working with Chinese social media
Strong knowledge of US and UK higher education systems
Experience in operating within a channel sales environment
Driven, results-orientated and focused nature

IT literate in CRM technologies
Comfortable in dynamic, international environments
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets
Experience living, studying, or working abroad is preferred
Bachelor’s degree required
Fluency in Mandarin required
3+ years of related experience and/or training in international higher education
Ability to travel freely to and from the US & Canada and hold a passport for international travel when required
