Under the direction of the Director of Research & Prospect Management, the Assistant Director, Research & Prospect Management (ADRPM) will be responsible for completing priority research projects, administering electronic prospect screenings based on institutional development priorities, and conducting portfolio & pipeline building analytics to inform research and prospect management objectives. He/she will also contribute to executive research needs on an as-needed basis. The ADRPM will synthesize biographical and financial information and develop comprehensive profiles and other briefing materials to assist in the development of cultivation and solicitation strategies of major and principal gift prospects. Additionally, he/she will contribute to data projects regarding prospect landscape, divisional portfolio performance and balance, and pipeline performance.
A writing sample will be required with all applications.
Work may be required evenings, weekends, during established University events such as the annual President’s Circle Dinner and All-American Weekend, and/or to meet deadlines. Position located at the 4401 Connecticut Avenue NW location.

A Bachelor's degree is required.
3 years of experience in Prospect Research or similar positions involving data analytics, comprehensive biographical or genealogical research, and financial analysis
Experience with proactive fundraising management and research techniques and best practices
Experience using online databases such as LexisNexis, WealthEngine, FC Search Online, Foundation Search, IWAVE, SEC Documents
Proficiency in MS Word (merges, advanced formatting), MS Excel (including filtering, equations), and MS Access (queries, mail merges, forms)
Experience interpreting and analyzing data, using insights achieve desired outcomes
Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by clear, concise, and persuasive writing, public speaking, and private discourse
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated experience successfully working with persons from diverse backgrounds
Maturity, sound judgment, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment
Experience in higher education advancement preferred
Knowledge of University structure and prospect management systems
Experience with Colleague Advancement and/or similar database systems a plus
