Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Health Records Clerk, within Rutgers University Correctional Health Care at Southern State Correctional Facility located in Delmont, New Jersey. The Health Records Clerk is responsible and accountable for the maintenance of health records.
Organizes and maintains a system of files and records concerning diagnosis, treatments, admissions, and discharges.
Compiles, verifies, types, and files medical records of inmates, within New Jersey Department of Corrections.
Performs all clerical duties related to the assembling and maintaining of medical records, including initiating records for new inmates.
Ensures the confidentiality of all medical records information.
Home Location Campus: Off Campus
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical records is preferred.
Familiarity with the Problem Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) or similar system is preferred.
Clerical experience in relational database processes, and computer literacy, such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Access, is preferred.
Department: UCHC-Ph-Southern St Corr Facility
Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Employees will be subject to, and must comply with, all security regulations and procedures of New Jersey DOC and the assigned facility(ies) including, but not limited to sign in logs or electronic time clocks, searches of person and property, etc. Violations of NJ DOC's and/or being banned by the DOC to work in a New Jersey DOC facility are grounds for a disciplinary action and potential termination.
