Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the Bio-specimen Repository Services department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position, are the following:
Performs research related clinical specimen collection and processing, under the direction of the Tissue Analytic Services Bio-Specimen Repository Laboratory Manager.
Assists in protocol adaptation and administrative duties involved in following protocol requirements and regulations.
Performs research related specimen processing, including immunohistochemistry techniques.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must show proficiency in molecular biology laboratory methods.
Understanding research protocols well enough to implement specimen processing needs and/or documentation of specimen collection and processing procedures, is necessary.
Ability to follow and create laboratory SOPs in order to reach goals set by research protocols and learn laboratory specific database software, is essential.
Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Department: CINJ-Biospecimen Collection
Mandatory "on-call" laboratory schedule must be adhered to, for complete collection of all protocol related bio-specimens.
