Health Sciences IT Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Web Computing Specialist. This position will perform senior level end-user and server support for Web technologies, designing and developing new websites, maintaining existing websites, and data reporting for HSAS&F and for a variety of departments within the Health Sciences Complex.
Under minimal supervision, perform a variety of tasks associated with the support of web sites, data analysis, databases and related software. Web Site Projects:
Design, implement & test web sites per customer specifications and UW Brand Standards, Monitor the performance and security status of web sites & taking appropriate action. Design, implement & test web data recovery systems. Assist HS-ITS Manager with risk management, compliance and business continuity planning. Keeping up to date with the latest UW and W3C recommendations and policies and active participation in UW technology community. SharePoint maintenance, development, and training:
Create, customize and maintain SharePoint servers and websites. Design, implement, modify and maintain databases and related reports supporting SharePoint. Utilize API's to integrate operations between different systems. Train both internal and external customers on SharePoint and associated technologies. Web-based Business Systems, including Reporting Services:
Support mission critical applications including TMA (a computerized maintenance management system) and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Perform Preventative Maintenance for Web Sites:
Perform routine security checks on sites. Leveraging CISO, check for updates, audit plugins, themes, logs, and resource usage.
Cultivate positive working relationships with coworkers, management, customers, manufacturers, vendors and the general public.
Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to customer's concerns, effectively communicating options, respecting the customer's decisions and implementing them in a timely and cost effective manner.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required.

Stay current on emerging technologies by reading industry publications, attending seminars and classes, developing relationships with vendors and peers, evaluating software and products. Demonstrated knowledge of VB.NET, SOAP, REST API, PowerShell
Experience with tools such as Visual Studio, Visio, SQL Developer, SQL Server Management Studio, IIS Manager, PHPMyAdmin
Experience with Mac OS and/or Linux Servers, including Apache
Experience with Drupal
Experience in a clinical or education environment, preferably at a major research university.
Experience with PowerShell and/or command-line.
Experience supporting the client side of Microsoft Outlook/Exchange systems
Experience developing and/or supporting database applications and servers, such as MS Access, and FileMaker Pro
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
Experience with tools such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Team Foundation Server
Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite products such as Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.
Experience with LDAP technologies such as Active Directory or Open Directory.
