This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Benefits Service Center. Responsibilities include supervising overall Benefits Service Center functions and project management as it relates to employee benefit processes and serving as the subject matter expert for employee benefits.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma
Bachelors Degree, preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
3 years employee benefits experience, including administration of medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts and voluntary benefits.
Must have 1 year experience as team lead or supervisor
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experienced at taking complex subjects and communicating them simply to uninformed audiences. Project management skills, including planning and implementation preferred
Past experience working with a small team, in a call center environment preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Access. Page 2 of 6 Supv Benefits
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Benefit Service Center including serving as the first point of contact for the Benefits Service Center team for clarification and guidance on benefit topics, managing and resolving escalated benefit issues, creating, defining and monitoring internal group processes and definitions, providing statistical reporting of Benefit Service Center transactions. Also responsible to assist with all day-to-day functions as needed by the team*
Serve as main point of contact and subject matter expert in the Benefits Service Center, partnering closely with internal work groups, including Communications, Finance, Payroll and IT and external vendors to achieve business results.*
Responsible for the management of new and existing projects as they pertain to employee benefits, including open enrollment, but not limited to, online enrollment system review and updates for language, rates and changes to benefits offered. Responsible for supervising end to end system testing prior to projects go live.*
Serve as representative for Benefits Service Center on project teams as needed and make recommendations involving process improvement or other initiatives that accommodate ongoing business needs.*
Manage new and ongoing vendor file processes with IT and external vendors.*
Assists with coordinating employee benefit changes and other details with internal Communications team to notify employees.*
Oversee maintenance of internal Benefits intranet site, including creation, deletion, and changing of documents for employee benefits team.*
Responsible for approving and scheduling Benefit Service Center team time off requests, and approving time cards.*
