We are seeking a commercially minded and dynamic Workplace Health Safety & Environment (WHSE) professional. Macquarie Projects supports Macquarie Capital with its principal interests in non-financial assets globally which create operational, legal, reputational and ethical workplace health, safety and environmental responsibilities for Macquarie in those assets. Macquarie Capital and Projects recognise the importance and value of WHSE, and is looking for an experienced individual to embed it across our business and assets in Asia.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
lead the review, enhancement and maintenance of the Macquarie Project's WHSE framework and its implementation across its Asian assets
develop a comprehensive WHSE education program for Macquarie Projects employees
assist in developing a Macquarie Capital WHSE Centre of Expertise, and work closely with Asian deal teams to provide expert advice on WHSE matters for new transactions and ongoing asset management
assist in establishing appropriate business forums at the industry and regional level as appropriate, to share WHSE related learnings
work closely with Macquarie Capital's development, delivery and asset management teams to ensure WHSE is being appropriately managed throughout a deal lifecycle
establish and maintain relationships with external legal and technical firms that provide WHSE related advice and services
define scope of external WHSE due-diligence engagements and assist deal teams with reviewing the results and translating recommendations into action plans
work with asset managers and the management of non-financial assets to implement WHSE action plans where appropriate
conduct follow up inspections and internal audits on WHSE performance on assets under construction and / or operations
assist with establishing WHSE Key Performance Indicators, and related reporting and monitoring processes
maintain Macquarie Project's WHSE risk assessment including review of asset and industry data, analysis of trends and developing actions for continuous improvement
stay up to date on key regulatory developments across Asia regarding WHSE and strive to ensure that Macquarie Projects is keeping pace with requirements and best practice
To be successful in this role, you will:
possess a minimum of 10 years' experience as a WHS&E professional in either an internal or external advisory capacity or as part of a broader operations role, with exposure to infrastructure and renewables
hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in WHSE or related discipline (i.e. engineering)
demonstrate strong strategic, technical and multi-national WHS&E expertise supported by appropriate tertiary qualifications.
possess a proven ability to succeed in a complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to drive change
asset management and Board experience will be well regarded
This is a pan-Asia role, reporting directly to the Head of Macquarie Projects and working closely with Macquarie Capital Principal's Global WHSE Manager. The role will be based in Singapore with a significant amount of travel within Asia as required.
