To build an industry leading workplace data and analytics strategy and architecture platform with focus on operationalising data, analytics and insights to optimise Property processes and operations, and drive results and outcomes. The role will require extensive stakeholder engagement of the diverse Standard Chartered Property data ecosystem, including the owners of the existing 'federated' systems (e.g., WebCoRE, PeopleSoft, access control, GPMS, Finance, energy, building management systems, etc.) and consumers of the data (e.g., Regional & Country Property teams, Business Alignment, Facilities Management, Supply Partners, Senior Business stakeholders, etc.). This role will also require working with our technology partners (e.g., SCB ITO, Supply Partners, analytics teams, etc.) to deliver against desired data management and analytics outcomes.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Impact on Business
Develop the data strategy, information hierarchy and framework for operationalising analytics including the capabilities roadmap, mapping requirements to implementation, selecting technology, and evaluating non-functional attributes such as security, usability and stability.
Champion the Workplace Performance KPIs and outcomes to gain buy-in from SCB businesses and functions and Property regional teams.
Lead the development of relevant, accurate and actionable insights from Property based data.
Oversee the data and analytics assets, applications, infrastructures, tools, and leading practices that enable access to and analysis of information to optimise business decisions and performance.
Establish and drive the operationalisation of the Property data and analytics architecture strategy to amplify insights and outcomes.
Create and manage the strategic capabilities roadmap, managing and prioritising requirements across a vast array of partners and strategic imperatives against conflicting needs and constraints while opportunistically accelerating opportunities.
Develop architectural methods and techniques to deliver a robust, cost-effective platform that supports current requirements and that can evolve to support future requirements without costly rework and disruptions.
Responsible for selecting and providing specialised expertise of appropriate technologies from the many open source, commercial on-premises, and cloud-based offerings to enable the data and analytics architecture to continuously and rapidly realise value.
Plan, design, and monitor key non-functional attributes of platform quality such as security, usability, and stability characteristics of the analytics architecture to help ensure that it complies with enterprise standards and that it performs adequately as additional analytics solutions are implemented.
Cultivate data and analytics architecture as a core highly specialised competency from existing Property talent pools.
Produce agile ad-hoc analysis based on high-level requirements while working closely with stakeholders and partners to refine criteria based on continuous iteration of analytically based learnings.
Establish effective review and communications structure to be aware of all activity that can influence Property data and analytics and to share lessons learned and best practice across the Property team.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and acquisition of relevant best-in-class practices.
Leadership and Teamwork
Act as the primary Property data and analytics point of contact for Property, Business and other stakeholders.
Represent Property's analytic expertise and leadership to clients, partners, and internal teams. Participate in key meetings as required.
Bring deep analytic competencies and play a strong role in shaping and driving the execution of its strategies and plans.
Act as a "translator" between Property, Business, and analysts to deliver outcomes.
Recognise and deliver solutions/engagements where clients can recognise significant values from analytic services.
Able to handle multiple diverse engagements from Property and Business strategy discussions to solution design and architecture to data management and planning to prototyping and hands on evaluation of technology.
Support the Property regional teams by engaging key SCB management and stakeholder groups when necessary to drive Property data management and analytics outcomes.
Drive operational teams to improve global Property data accuracy and processes. Work with regional Property teams and Supply Partners to drive a more integrated approach to headcount and utilisation tracking.
Provide leadership and guidance across all regional Property teams to ensure an integrated and global approach to data management and analytics.
Interface with any and all other parts of the SCB Property function, including strategic suppliers, external suppliers and other SCB entities.
Provide professional advisory services in relation to Property data management and analytics to every area of Standard Chartered across the world.
Represent Standard Chartered on industry and subject matter groups and committees to enhance understanding of Property data management and analytics and to ensure regular visibility of external best practice.
Operational Effectiveness and Control
Continually reassess operational risks associated with data management and analytics, taking account of changing economic and market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, and the impact of new technology.
Drive best practice in respect to occupancy management systems, processes and practices.
Define central information collation and reporting processes.
Define and oversee a monitoring and measurement framework and processes to provide tracking of strategy implementation and performance KPIs.
Ensure effective reporting at functional and corporate levels.
Define and drive delivery and management of Property-wide processes and reporting in relation to occupancy management, headcount tracking and utilisation tracking.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in the property/real estate market or a quantitative discipline with a proven track record of architecting data and analytics strategy, capabilities, solutions, and frameworks to drive significant business impact or to develop data/algorithm based products.
Background in data management, business intelligence, predictive analytics, support of information systems and information technology, direct management of a major IT operation would be an asset.
Bachelor's degree (or relevant qualifications) in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering or other business related discipline preferred.
Strong problem solving / solution design skills and business judgment.
Demonstrated ability to structure and lead effective analytic client engagements. Previous experience with creating analyses and presentations that have led to material business decisions.
Excellent communication (listening, verbal and written), diplomacy, and data visualization skills.
Hands-on experience in data and business intelligence delivery.
Experience establishing critical metrics, dashboards and analytics systems in a fast-changing business environment.
Familiarity with a range of data management, business intelligence approaches and the latest, tools, techniques and methodologies in data and analytics development management
Deep understanding and appreciation for both business and technology components of information management in the real estate industry
A demonstrable history of influencing others through consensus building in a cross functional matrix environment.
Experience developing communications and presenting to senior management.
Ability to analyse and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, and creative.
Team-building, recruiting, and talent management skills are essential. Partner and vendor management skills a plus.
Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage detail work and communicate project status effectively to all levels.
Proven track record in meeting aggressive deadlines.
Some technical experience in any of the following would be an asset but is not required:
Data Management strategies, architectures and platforms (ETL/ELT, MDM, DMP, DW, DM, Map Reduce)
Expertise in Big Data, Big Math, and Big Iron tech (Hadoop, Hive, MongoDB, NoSQL)
Data Analytics Tools (R, Python, SQL, mapping such as ArcGIS)
