Mizuho Alternative Investments LLC is the U.S. asset management arm of the Mizuho Financial Group specializing in alternative investments. The Structured Credit Investments (SCI) team is currently providing analytical, surveillance and reporting services for Mizuho Bank Ltd.'s CLO (collateralized loan obligations) investments in the Tokyo Head Office. SCI is looking to expand its activities, which include acquisition of additional clients, raising investment capital from internal and external sources and engaging in active investment management. Achieving these objectives will require building up the investment team and infrastructure.
This position will be responsible for assisting in the planning, development and marketing of SCI products and services to internal and external investors, assisting in the preparation of periodic and ad hoc reports and serve as the primary point of contact for all SCI clients. Because most, if not all, clients will be based in Japan, strong Japanese language skills (reading/writing/speaking) will be required. The position does not require the candidate to have substantive experience in structured credit, but the candidate should have a general knowledge of finance, demonstrate attention to detail, and possess an eagerness to learn about highly specialized and complex investments.
Assist in the planning and development of SCI products and services, which may include funds or separate accounts as well as analytical services.
Preparation of marketing materials regarding SCI products and services and reaching out to potential clients within and outside the Mizuho Financial Group.
As the investor relations officer, serve as the primary point of contact for SCI clients.
Develop a good working knowledge of the investment products managed by the SCI team and interact with various market participants.
Assist the SCI team in the preparation of all reports and analyses requested by the clients.
Back up and support the SCI team in their day to day activities.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Strong Japanese language skills (reading/writing/speaking)
At least five years of experience in finance or banking.
Experience in business planning and marketing preferred
Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to details
Proficiency in MS Office products, especially in Excel, Access and Power Point
Strong interpersonal skills
