ACCESS SERVICES LIBRARIAN POSITION—PALM BEACH ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, WEST PALM BEACH, FL
The Warren Library announces the search for a well-qualified Access Services librarian to fill an open position within its team of librarians. The Access Services Librarian manages the services of the library’s primary access point and leads the UX Team in a collaborative effort to optimize the user experience across the entire spectrum of library services. This includes recruiting and supervising all staff assigned to the main service desk. This position will also participate in scheduled reference and instructional services including evening and weekend rotation. This is a faculty position with support for promotion and opportunities for broader University service.
This position requires a graduate degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution. Additional experience in an academic library, especially in the area of access services is essential. Training and/or experience with techniques of UX design is highly desired. Proficiency in the general research skills required in academically rigorous and technologically sophisticated libraries is expected. The successful candidate must have the oral, written, and interpersonal skills required to be effective in a demanding team-based organization. Qualified candidates must also demonstrate strong Christian commitment as evidenced by local church involvement and the ability to integrate faith with day-to-day job performance. An additional advanced degree within a discipline of the university’s academic program is desired.
