TheUniversity of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work (UM-SSW) is currentlyseeking a 10-month, full-time Clinical Instructor position who will function asa Faculty Field Instructor for bachelor's and master's degree social workstudents who are participating in its Title IV-E Education for Public ChildWelfare Program. The position will be primarilystationed at the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services inAnnapolis, Maryland.
The Title IV-E Education forPublic Child Welfare Program at the University of Maryland School of SocialWork is a partnership with the Maryland Department of Human Resourcessuccessfully preparing BSW and MSW social work students for social work practicewith families and children in Maryland's public child welfare programs for overtwenty years. The program strives, through required academic courses, fieldeducation assignments, and targeted child welfare training experiences, toimpact states' achievement of core outcomes of public child welfare servicesprograms of child safety, permanency of family relationships, and child andfamily well-being.
TheProgram is seeking an energetic social work educator with a commitment topublic child welfare practice and social work education to join our creativeand committed team of social work field educators.
Assessthe field education learning needs of assigned students, develop fieldeducation learning activities, and assess students' achievement of Social Workknowledge, skill, and value competencies and practice behaviors as described inthe Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) 2015 Educational Policy andAccreditation Standards.
Provideindividual and group field education sessions to assigned BSW and MSW socialwork students for a minimum of one hour per week, per student during the fieldeducation placement based on the BSW/Foundation, Advanced Clinical, andAdvanced Macro Field Education syllabi and Maryland's child welfare pre-servicecompetencies.
Utilizingthe UMB SSW Electronic Field Notebook and the UMBC Intern Placement Trackingsoftware system, develop learning agreements, provide detailed feedback onprocess recordings, and submit mid-semester and semester evaluations of studentprogress in a timely manner.
Participatein the selection of Title IV-E BSW and MSW applicants.
Incorporatelearning objectives of UM SSW courses into supervision and field instructionconferences with students to support integration of social work theories withpractice.
Workcollaboratively with Local Department of Social Services' administrators,supervisors, and social work staff to recruit task supervisors for the fieldeducation team, identify appropriate learning activities and assignments, andincorporate Maryland child welfare practices and initiatives into fieldeducation. This consists of jointlychoosing field education assignments, consulting on field education progressand achievement of social work competencies, and addressing any agency concernsregarding students' practice behaviors.
Usinginstructional technology, plan and deliver monthly child welfare fieldeducation seminars, based on Maryland's child welfare pre-service trainingcurriculum.
Participatein the planning and delivery of child welfare training to Title IV-E studentsincluding program and field education orientations, motivational interviewing,trauma informed child welfare practice, and child welfare and the courttraining programs.
Learnand Implement "Live Supervision" training model.
Participatein monthly Title IV-E faculty meetings, program evaluation, program developmentand other program and faculty meetings held at UMB.
Participatein presentations on Title IV-E, motivational interviewing, child welfare,and/or field education at national and local professional conferences andmeetings.
Otherduties as are appropriate and assigned.

In-statetravel required to meet students at three Anne Arundel County locations andobserve students in the field. In-statetravel also required to UMB SSW in Baltimore. Ability for out-of-state travel for presentations at NationalConferences is helpful.
