Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Part-Time)-Neurology-(1700013S)
The Department of Neurology at University of Maryland School of Medicineis seeking a part-time, highly qualified postdoctoral research fellow for preclinical translational research focusingon cellular signaling pathways involved in immune regulation of neuronalfunction. Primary research involves use of patient-derived samples for analysisin cell culture, primary neuronal culture, and rodent animal models ofneurologic diseases. Specifically, we are interested in the molecularmechanisms of autoantibody targeting of cell surface proteins. The laboratoryutilizes multidisciplinary approach and techniques include primary neuronalculture, acute brain slice sectioning, neuropharmacology, viral vector delivery, histology, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, light and confocalmicroscopy, and live cell microscopy.
Candidates should haveexpertise in at least one of the following areas: cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or cellular physiology. Experience with mouse and rat transgenicand knock-in/knock-out models is preferred. The successful candidate will leadone or more projects combining multidisciplinary approaches in cell biology, neuroscience, and immunology.
Interested candidates shouldprovide cover letter including short description of doctoral training andfuture research goals, C.V., and at least 3 references to:
