The Medical School’s Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) in the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) seeks a qualified Patient Services Associate who is a motivated self-starter to join our Clerical Support Team.
Coordinates the operational activities of a clinical research practice, functioning as a team lead and providing relief support on a regular basis for co-workers. Coordinates and facilitates communication between study teams and staff as needed. Provides customer service by facilitating business processes including appointment scheduling utilizing MCRU’s own scheduling portal and Mi-Chart and Cadence.
Will back up Patient Service Assistant with check-in and check-out and clerical office business functions.
Two to three years’ experience in a clinical setting, either inpatient or outpatient. Must have; organizational skills, problem solving skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Basic medical terminology competency is required with at least six months’ experience working in a medical environment. Applicants must demonstrate having worked positively in a team orientated atmosphere and managing a fast paced work environment. Ability to successfully interact with diverse individuals, including: PI’s, nurses, participants and families; excellent computer skills, including experience with Mi-Chart, Cadence and CareWeb.
Previous experience with U of M software systems such as Mi-Chart, Cadence, and Outlook (email) are preferred. Previous experience in a Research Environment. Advanced computer skills including; Access, Excel, & Word.
Days - some weekends; this is a 30 hour per week position.
