The Associate Director for First Year Experience manages all aspects of co-educational residence hall area housing approximately 1,800 students. And directly supervises 5 full-time professional staff. The Associate Director will manage day-to-day operations for their residence hall area; consult with staff, students, and parents to solve housing problems; and coordinate area-wide activities and events. The Associate Director will be the primary staff involved in the program administration of functional Residential Education living-learning initiatives for first-year students, including the Resident Faculty program.
This position has "non-traditional" business hours. Extreme flexibility is required to be successful in this position. Attendance at campus functions, student programs, and after-hours emergency response is often required. The staff member should have an active interest in the development of students in their personal and academic pursuits.
Compensation The compensation package for this position includes a furnished two bedroom apartment, all utilities paid (local phone, electricity, cable, internet access). Apartment either equipped with washer and dryer, or laundry card provided.

Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration or related field is required.
5 years post-masters, professional residence hall experience, including experience with campus crisis management and/or on-call coverage
Supervision of graduate or full-time staff is strongly preferred
Experience working with residential curricula and leadership development for first-year student populations and collaborating with academic administrators and faculty in out-of-classroom settings
