How will your story unfold?A desirable opportunity exists at the corporate office located in downtown Chicago to lead the food and beverage operations for Vi’s 10 continuing care retirement communities and care centers. The talented professional we seek will develop programs, standards and initiatives to drive performance and deliver innovative cuisine and a unique dining experience to Residents. In this position you will be responsible to: •Develop innovative and industry-leading Food and Beverage programs and techniques that contribute to the differentiation of Vi’s brand in the senior-living industry.•Establish relationships within the Company that support the operations through but not limited to, maintaining company standards for food production and menu development through company purchasing programs and company initiatives such as quality improvement (QAPI), certification and training programs, development of third-party relationships, marketing and PR. •Develop efficiency metrics and provide analysis for monthly labor and food costs. •Ensure kitchen and dining room safety and sanitation to ensure compliance with regulations. •Oversee selection of food, equipment, vendors and contracts for highest quality and favorable cost. •Act as company liaison for Group Purchasing Agreements (GPO) monitoring community compliance with purchasing programs and provide substantive feedback to senior management on a bi-annual basis.•Manage kitchen and dining room design. •Assess resident satisfaction of food and beverage services and products and oversee improvement action plans. •Develop and support systems-based development and technology enhancements.•Develop and monitor all training and certifications programs for both front and back of the house.•Direct and support all front and back of the house training for management and service staff in independent living, assisted living, skilled care and memory support dining venues.•Help to identify and maintain financial parameters of annual operating budgets through strategic planning.•Work in concert with the care center administrator and corporate functional leads to ensure and maintain a consistent “survey ready” environment and achieve deficiency free surveys.
Qualified applicants will possess 10 years food and beverage management experience directing high quality, multi-site food and service operations. Knowledge of industry technology including POS, inventory, and kitchen planning systems. Knowledgeable in all service techniques for front and back of the house. Strategic thinker, problem solver, excellent communicator. Management of third-party vendors. Bachelor’s Degree required. Hotel/hospitality/culinary degree preferred. CDM, CFBE or CHE preferred.
