We are seeking a highly motivated research associate to work on projects examining the mechanisms of cardiovascular control and arrhythmia suppression. Specifically, we are interested in understanding the changes that occur in cardiac innervation following spinal cord injury. Our laboratory combines in vivo approaches in chronically instrumented conscious animals with in vitro histological/molecular biology procedures to investigate neuron remodeling, as well as neuronal proteins that synthesize, store, and remove norepinephrine. The successful applicant will have ample opportunities to develop new skills, and work in an excellent scientific environment with full access to cutting edge tools and technologies. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed physiologist.
PhD in Physiology
Candidates should possess a PhD in Physiology, have a strong track record of high quality biomedical research and an excellent publication record. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience in small animal surgery and histological and molecular biology techniques.
