Job Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Corporate Integrity Compliance Specialist will assist in the management and promotion of the Corporate Integrity Program. Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of CSHS's Corporate Integrity Program and policies, as well as participating in special projects. This role will also assist in providing regulatory interpretation, compliance reporting, compliance training and education, assist in developing and implementing compliance auditing, monitor strategies, and support investigations, audits and analysis. The Specialist will assist in supporting the implementation of the 7 essential elements of the compliance program (1. Standard of conduct/policies & procedures, 2. Compliance officer and compliance committee, 3. Education and training, 4. Monitoring and auditing, 5. Reporting (hotline and other reporting mechanisms) and investigations, 6. Enforcement and discipline, 7. Response and prevention). Essential duties and responsibilities:
Provide intake of all inquiries and complaints submitted through the Compliance Hotline or Corporate Integrity Department by employees, physicians and the public. Coordinate the review of and resolution to compliance issues and concerns.
Support planning and execution of internal and board Corporate Integrity Committee meetings.
Coordinate educational programs on compliance for employees, physicians and vendors. This includes annual required training and on-going training.
Support compliance audits, risk assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring activities including the coordination of data requests, assisting in the identification, development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures while organizing and maintaining Corporate Integrity department documentation.
Stay abreast of state and federal requirements and communicates changes/updates to CSHS stakeholders and leaders as well as to any changes in healthcare regulation including fraud and abuse, privacy and security, CMS billing and requirements and Medicaid
Bachelor's degree preferred Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in increasingly responsible positions in a complex healthcare organization including experience in compliance and privacy, billing and coding regulations or policies and processes.
Ability to handle difficult, sensitive and confidential situations with integrity and professionalism.
Exemplary oral and written communication skills. This includes the ability to share information in an organized, clear and timely manner, both verbally and in writing; keeping peers, colleagues, staff and the Vice President, Corporate Integrity appropriately informed.
Effective interpersonal skills such as effective listening, appropriate use of style and language for audience, and productive processing of information.
Ability to processes and synthesizes complex information in an analytical fashion and communicate findings results effectively. This includes effective verbal presentation and written analysis adjusting content and language to the needs of the audience.
Knowledge in Medicare, Medicaid and HIPAA preferred.
Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people to accomplish objectives.
Expertise in data gathering, management, reporting and interpretation. Other Qualifications: Must have a broad understanding of the healthcare environment. Knowledge of PC applications including spreadsheets is required. Must be organized and able to meet ongoing as well as special time deadlines and work under pressure. Ability to work with Access, Excel and Word at the intermediate level. Must have advanced proficiency with PowerPoint.
