Reporting to the Facilities Mechanical Utilities Plumber Steamfitter Supervisor, the Plumber Steamfitter installs, maintains, and repairs steam lines, valves, traps, domestic water and sewer lines, pumps, fans and fire hydrants. Performs general plumber steamfitter work at the journeyman level. Performs general service work on mechanical equipment including maintenance, lubrication, and replacement of system components.
- Experience at the journeyman level in general plumbing and steam fitting. - Working knowledge of tools of the trade such as hand tools, pipe threading machines, torches, drills, rotary hammers, sewer cleaners. - Must have and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License with Class B endorsements and a DOT medical certification. - Ability to safely and frequently move and handle heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more; maneuver materials up and down stairs; climb and work from elevated work stations such as ladders and scaffolds; work for long periods of time standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling; safely work in designated confined spaces; and work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures. - This is a designated emergency personnel position. May be required to work additional hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department, in addition to respond to after hours and weekend calls.
- Previous experience in industrial, commercial or institutional building plumbing and piping installation and maintenance. - Experience with computer software such as Word and Excel.
