This position is responsible for assisting the team to develop and implement marketing strategies and services for individuals and families in the greater Seattle area impacted by sudden, violent death. The Outreach Case Specialist will be responsible for identifying and developing hospital and community-based relationships to further support survivors of sudden, violent death. This position will provide information and assistance to survivors when applying for the Crime Victim Compensation program, and connect survivors to appropriate community resources.
Inform and implement marketing strategies.
Identifying community-based programs that provide services for families impacted by sudden, violent death.
Working collaboratively with partnering agencies to create a uniform, community-based referral system for families impacted by sudden, violent death.
Referring adults to Separation and Loss Services for individual and/or group therapy as appropriate and/or provide information and referral to other community resources. Refer children to community-based programs and organizations that specialize in providing services to children who have experienced sudden, violent death.
Ongoing communication and follow-up with individuals and families impacted by sudden, violent death

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; experience working with clients who have experienced grief and loss. Familiarity with grief and loss community resources and / or demonstrated ability cultivating relationships with community resources (grief and loss or other). Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently. Proficient in MS office programs and databases.
Preferred: Master of Social Work or Counseling. 1-3 years’ work experience within a trauma-informed care system and working with survivors after a sudden, traumatic death of a friend or family member. Familiarity with the criminal justice system and understanding of the role of a crime victim advocate. Comfortable educating and working with clients currently engaged in the criminal justice system. Experience with project development and facilitation of support groups.
