WEB DEVELOPER, Office of Communications, to assist with the design, testing, development, and support of MIT's top-level digital properties and website projects. Reporting to the web development lead, will work in an Agile development environment to support the delivery of high-quality web products. Responsibilities include designing, coding, and developing responsive websites that meet accessibility standards; supporting and creating enhancements for websites, including the MIT homepage, MIT News, MIT Connect (social media hub), and Events Calendar; fixing bugs and CMS issues; writing documentation and creating automated tests; developing and optimizing MIT News' weekly newsletter; advancing best practices within the web service team through participating in all aspects of development, including web architecture, continuous integration process, and technical design; building, maintaining, and deploying Drupal themes and modules; addressing ongoing website performance and implementing regular Drupal updates; and creating prototypes as proofs of concept for utilizing new technology or demonstrating functional solutions.
This is a one-year term appointment with the possibility of extension.
