Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Child & Adolescent Services – Extended Treatment Program at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
Under the direction of the Clinician Administrator, the primary purpose of the Mental Health Clinician III position is to provide comprehensive assessment, psychological/neuropsychological assessment for youth and therapeutic intervention for the psychological and social needs of child and adolescent clients (ages 3-21 years), including development of treatment plans, conducting individual, group, and family therapy, and providing case management functions as necessary.
Provides psychotherapeutic interventions/services in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards of the UBHC.
Consistently provides psychotherapy,based on sound clinical judgment as indicated by supervisory observation and feedback from patients, family and fellow team members.
Consistently performs case management functions to ensure overall coordination of treatment services via systems linkages, service procurement, referrals, patient advocacy and community liaison as indicated by supervisory observation and/or periodic record reviews.
Administers high level diagnostic evaluations or specialized psychological testing as clinically indicated in a timely fashion, as observed by supervisor.
Demonstrates experience in the utilization and administration of IQ testing materials that include cognitive and achievement tests.
Consistently interprets and integrates information from multiple sources that may include psychological, personality, behavioral and intelligence testing materials, as indicated by the supervisor.
Maintains and supervises the maintenance of clinical records in compliance with UBHC and JCAHO standards.
Provides clinical and administrative supervision, as assigned, to students, and interns.
Attends to professional development by remaining current in knowledge of trends and development in mental health.
Annually participates in a minimum of two (2) relevant professional colloquia on mental health related issues, as reflected in attendance at such training events.
Actively participates in program development within Children's Services, as observed by supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Home Location Campus: Piscataway (RBHS)
Experience in the mental health field delivering psychotherapeutic services, psychological/neuropsychological assessment. Assessments to children and families preferred.
