The Accountant/Financial Analyst will be primarily responsible for the timely reconciliation and reporting of the general ledgers associated with Business & Financial Services including Financial Services (Bursar, Loan, Cashier), Mail Services, and Transportation & Brown Card Services. This position plays a significant role in the budgeting and analysis of the individual unitsâ?? budgets and provides financial and project support to the AVP Business & Financial Services. The incumbent will act as liaison to internal and external auditors as needed and is responsible for tracking and preparation of year-end accounting entries
Required: Bachelorâ??s Degree in accounting, finance or related business concentration
Preferred: Masterâ??s Degree
3-5 years of relevant experience with accounting and financial data analysis including development of reports. Experience in higher education a plus.
Demonstrated experience in advanced Excel required.
Requires professional knowledge of the theory, principles and procedures of accounting, auditing and financial management.
Strong technical skills and analytical skills to translate data from various sources into user-friendly reports and spreadsheets.
Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail (or related e-mail and calendar) and ability to learn to new systems and adapt to system changes quickly.
Outstanding organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.
Attention to detail critical and accuracy-focused required. Proactive with effective follow up skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a productive member of a team.
