We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Division Administrator.
In this role, the successful candidate provides leadership support and overall administrative direction for the Division which includes the management of non-physician staff. In conjunction with the Chair and Division Director, develops and implements strategic goals related to management of the Division, program development and related issues. The responsibilities of the Division Administrator, is best facilitated by an individual with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership and personnel management skills, exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated financial and research management experience.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Propose and implement creative approaches to program management and improvement within the Division.
Establishes linkages and relationships with NYUSOM administrative and research departments including Sponsored Programs Administration and Institutional Review Board, Human Resources, Finance and relevant areas of other NYU schools and colleges.
Meets on a regular basis with department's Director of Research Administration, Department Administrator and Assistant Director of Finance to address any global issues within the department.
In conjunction with the Division Director, develops and implements strategic plans for Division growth and recruitment of faculty. Develops business plans and related documents to support faculty recruitment for review and approval by the Chair and the institution. Coordinates resources for recruits, including space and equipment.
In conjunction with the Division Director, oversees the strategic development of space and facilities planning for department. Manages the space, equipment and any facility related issues within the division.
Provides administrative supervision of all aspects of the academic and training programs within the division.
Manages the entire non-physician staff within the department. Leads all HR related functions including hiring, terminations, payroll and MSS changes. Addresses performance issues and ensures compliance with the annual review process.
Provides oversight and administrative direction for all grant management activity and clinical research compliance within the division. Includes management of the pre and post award activity in the Division and compliance with all funding agencies and the IRB.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Administration or related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Evidence of highly effective project management
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to conceptualize and undertake research with excellent literature search techniques
Effective interpersonal and communications skills and attention to detail
Comfortable in the role of team leader and team member
Master's Degree in public health, public administration or research.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
