Reporting to the Circulation/ILL Manager, the Interlibrary Loan Assistant performs the following duties: Assists with the operation of interlibrary loan and document delivery including OCLC searching, requesting, tracking; processing all orders; returning all loaned items in a timely fashion; communicating with users; and maintaining the University’s reputation as a viable and trustworthy interlibrary loan department. Processes distance learner requests from Tarleton faculty, students, and staff located at other campuses or remote locations. Assists with personnel duties involved in the selection, training, and evaluation of student workers assigned to the interlibrary loan department. Assists the Access Services Department and serves as back-up to the Circulation/Interlibrary Loan Coordinator.

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; One year of library experience or two years of general clerical or office experience. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of email and internet search engines. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Basic keyboarding skills.
