The Markets Legal Team in Hong Kong has an open position for a lawyer to cover the Prime Services, Cash and Markets Flow businesses. General coverage will include cash and derivatives Prime Brokerage, cash equities, all aspects of OTC transactions in respect of flow and structured equity products and stock borrowing & lending.
Responsibilities will include assisting in the negotiation, review and drafting of documentation relating to the Prime Services, Cash and Markets Flow businesses, including global master confirmation agreements, Prime Brokerage agreements, Cash terms of business, EMTN program term sheet and pricing supplements, securities borrowing & lending agreements and related equity financing documentation. A good understanding of the regulatory landscape in Asia Pacific (APAC) open and closed markets and experience with documenting and issuing securities under EMTN programmes would be an advantage. Successful candidate will be expected to work with and manage external counsel in conducting legal due diligence and coordinating transactional and advisory work. The candidate will also be required to liaise with internal business and support functions. Knowledge of equity derivatives sales & trading activities, as well as access to closed markets such as PRC and India will be extremely advantageous.
This position will be based in Hong Kong where the incumbent will be working with the front office and other support groups to deliver effective, timely and practical legal solutions across the APAC region.
Requirements are for a lawyer who is 0 to 3 years qualified in a common law jurisdiction; currently working with an international financial institution or at a leading law firm. Detail-oriented with strong transaction management and execution skill is important.
Chinese language skill is not required.
Attorney must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction.
