The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work Institute for Innovation and Implementation (The Institute) is seeking a Program Specialist that will independently coordinate activities for the Technical Assistance (TA) Network. The Program Specialist independently assists in the coordination of the Technical Assistance Network, which support federally funded programs related to early children's behavioral health. The position will collaborate closely with members of local implementation teams and stakeholders, as well as with faculty and staff at the School of Social Work. This position is expected to function independently, exercise discretion, and contribute to assignments and projects that require significant evaluation, originality, and ingenuity. The Program Specialist provides solutions to issues and judgment outside of pre-established guidelines or processes.
The Institute serves as a national training, technical assistance, evaluation, policy, systems design, and finance center that is focused on children's behavioral health. The Institute supports state and local governments and organizations to implement effective systems and practices to best meet the needs of children and youth with complex behavioral needs and their families. This support is provided through three primary units within The Institute: Policy and Finance; Technical Assistance & Implementation; and Research & Evaluation. These units work in an integrated fashion to assist governmental and other organizational entities to achieve better outcomes for children, youth, and their families.

Develop and schedule TA Network large scale work plans in accordance with specifications and funding limitations in order to shape the program and projects; oversee daily operations and coordinates activities of program; and determine priorities. Coordinates communication, requests for resources and provides administrative and logistical support
Serves as the point person in the development of national meetings.
Updates content in data platforms and websites
Develop weekly newsletters and social media projects independently
Performs critical non-routine analysis of continuous quality improvement (CQI) findings from State and Community Information Exchanges.
Assists in conceptualization, development, and drafting of written products and content such as promotional materials, training materials, website content, social media, proposals, recommendations, and other information resources for the improvement of the TA Network.
Conducts research in specific content areas and drafts briefs, white papers, or short rapid response summaries and assists management with more complex national large scope projects.
Develop and maintain effective mechanisms for ongoing partnerships at the state and national level. Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives and deliverables.
Provides routine and non-routine technical assistance, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation, and administrative support to the Institute leadership team.
May supervise clerical personnel or social work students.
Performs other duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of The Institute.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience with program planning and coordination in children's behavioral health.
Preferred Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field of study.
