Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Study Assistant for the Medical Oncology department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Research Study Assistant is to create and maintain a retrospective and prospective database consisting of all phase I and immunotherapy oncology patients including melanoma and skin oncology patients. This database consists of clinical, pathologic, radiographic, treatment and treatment outcomes data as well as genomic sequencing. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Maintains complex computerized records and database, ensuring the accuracy of information transcribed into electronic data capture systems such as ARIA, SCM, and Foundation medicine databases.
Obtains information on patients seen in the clinic undergoing all forms of cancer treatment including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
Attends multidisciplinary tumor boards for Phase I oncology and Melanoma oncology groups to collect data.
Provides support in ongoing research specific qualify assurance activities such as chart audits for protocol compliance.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Two (2) years of oncology research experience is preferred.
Understanding of the software program Oncology Collaborative Research Environment (Oncore®), is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
