UW Medical Center Pharmacy has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME PHARMACY TECHNICAN 1 - MEDICATION RECONCILIATION (Rotating/Variable Shifts). The Pharmacy Technician 1 will be responsible for data entry of the Patient Home Medication list in the ORCA computer system. The Medication Reconciliation and Home Medication List project is being implemented throughout UW Medical Center. The Pharmacy Technician 1 will primarily work on the Medication Reconciliation project with the potential to obtain training in other operational areas of the pharmacy. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician may perform a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks in inpatient, central, or satellite pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians prepare medications for Pharmacist review before dispensing.
Duties to include:
Perform order entry of home medication lists and allergies in ORCA/EPIC.
Collect medication lists from patients being admitted to the hospital through the Emergency Department and enter into ORCA to facilitate admit medication reconciliation.
Collect medication lists via the phone from patients scheduled to have surgery and enter into ORCA to facilitate admit medication reconciliation.
Facilitate the discharge process for patients being discharged from the medicine services to allow pharmacists time to educate patients on discharge.

Requirements: Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement: Pharmacy Technician licensure with State of Washington
Experience in a retail pharmacy setting with medication order entry preferred.
