Our Department of Intercollegiate Athletic has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Football Video.
Provide advance technical video/IT support to the UW football program working closely on a daily basis with the coaches and staff. The UW football program is among national leaders in technology by implementing football team video access via the web and distribution of football playbook, using both Apple and Windows based programs.
Having knowledge of all the positions, plays and aspects of football practices and competitions, strategically create video/IT data recordings during football team practices, games and while traveling to away games and bowl locations.
Perform specialized editing using XOS Thunder computerized editing systems. This requires extensive knowledge of football to strategically analyze, filter, compile and create over 100 different sequences of information. Football coaches are dependent on this expertise and strategic compilation of data in order to prepare their strategies for practices and competitions.
Develop and prepare specialized analytic scouting reports for football coaching staff using XOS Sagio Game Analysis program.
Manage and oversee football team playbook using Apple I-PAD. Serve as networking specialist on the XOS Thunder football computer network. Convert, transmit and manage team video and data via web-based program to all football team members using HUDL software.
Direct supervision, scheduling, training and evaluation of part-time video staff, students and hourly workers.
Manage UW football video resources and coordinate exchange and distribution of data for NFL, Pac-12 Network and media outlets.
Travel with team to set up all meeting rooms and to provide technical support. Supervisor and video facilitator for UW football events.
Provide technical video and software support for football recruiting staff.
Oversee maintenance and hardware and software updates of UW football computers, servers, and other related equipment.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Bachelor's degree in related fields and 4-5 years of experience in a Professional or Collegiate Sports Video program with expertise in operations, computerized video editing and networking/IT systems.
This position will require working beyond a normal 40 hour week. The large volume of work requires irregular work hours. This will include working evenings and weekends as well as travel with the football team to away games.
High level of technological knowledge and understanding of information technology, networking, video editing and programming with football industry specific analytical systems. Must have knowledge of NCAA policies as they relate to football media exchange, PAC-12 Conference, NFL and commercial media entities.
