Associate Directors of Admission read and evaluate applications for admission, serve as voting members of the Board of Admission during the selection process, develop regional recruitment strategies, conduct group information sessions for prospective students and families, represent the university at schools and college fairs during travel to assigned geographic territories and alumni and other recruitment events. In addition, Associate Directors contribute to the development of admissions policies and recruitment strategies and manage specialized recruitment programs and functions as assigned.
Required: Baccalaureate degree
5 -7 years of experience in admission, including 1 -2 years in a leadership role, preferably at a selective institution
Firsthand knowledge and experience with major issues facing American colleges and universities
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong writing and public speaking skills
Sensitivity to concerns of people of different backgrounds
Willingness and ability to work both independently and with groups in a multi-tasked environment
Creativity, efficiency, flexibility, open-mindedness, good judgment
Ability to work long hours
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Understanding of Brown and its academic standards
Capacity to relate easily and appropriately with a broad range of people
Understanding of publication relations
Strong record of leadership and professionalism
Ability to travel
