Washington University in St. Louis invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Associate Director: Inclusion, Access, & Special Populations-Office of Admissions. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, The Senior Associate Director serves as a member of the Office of Admissions leadership team and is focused on enrolling diverse, highly talented, underserved students who are able to succeed and thrive at Washington University in St. Louis. These students may include but are not limited to low income/Pell eligible, First Generation College, Students of Color, or part of special populations such as U.S. veterans.
The Senior Associate Director will collaborate to develop a strategic plan promoting Washington University’s programs and positioning the university as a leader in providing access for talented underrepresented students and supporting their success. He/she will work with the Admissions and Financial Aid Office leadership team to provide guidance, training, and direction on outreach and communication to external organizations, underrepresented students, and their families and supervise a team of Senior Assistant/Assistant Directors whose responsibilities will include a focus on recruiting diverse populations. The Senior Associate Director will build strong relationships with on-campus partners to develop new and existing programs for outreach and long-term student success. He/she will also establish strategic relationships with external organizations committed to college access and represent Washington University at national events, programs, panels, and professional organizations.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and project management skills and a BA/BS degree with 7-10 years of significant work experience in Admissions, College Access, or Diversity Recruitment. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to conduct compelling admissions presentations that communicate Washington University’s welcoming and inclusive campus community are essential as is cross cultural sensitivity and experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
