Employee is responsible for working with various stakeholders to interpret current and proposed compensation related legislation, determine impact on Discover and coordinate Discover’s efforts to comply. Employee is also responsible for ensuring department compliance with applicable company policies and procedures. Position requires the incumbent to effectively understand compensation practices, the overall business climate, and the regulatory requirements under which Discover operates. It necessitates an employee who displays effective communication, project management and professionalism skills in order to be effective.
• Monitor, track, research and report on legislation, regulations and media articles pertaining to executive and incentive compensation regulation • Determine, design and socialize approach to complying with legislation • Develop, draft, and project manage written responses, presentation slides and speaker notes for regulatory inquiries on compensation topics • Interpret, communicate, review and track exam requests to ensure team members deliver requested items timely, accurately and completely • Provide guidance to compensation team on creating action plans to address any findings • Coordinate implementation of plan to comply with regulations • Collect, analyze, and report on various compensation metrics related to proposed/current legislation or regulatory requests • Draft and update policies, procedures, process maps, etc. • Coordinate department internal review responses and any applicable action plans • Other tasks as assigned
Other Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, HR, Communications, Psychology, English, Law or other related field • 6 - 10 years of HR or regulatory related experience preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, accountability, and confidentiality • Ability to adapt to change • Understanding of Human Resources and/or Compensation practices • Experience contributing to projects under tight deadlines • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent organizational skills • Extremely high level of attention to detail and data accuracy • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues
