Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow within Radiation Oncology department's Xia Laboratory at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts independent laboratory research focusing on mechanisms and models of breast cancer associated with mutations in tumor suppressors BRCA1, PALB2 and BRCA2.
Works with mouse models to understand DNA damage response, cell cycle checkpoint response and oxidative stress response in vivo, and explore avenues to prevent cancer development associated with mutations in the above genes.
Maintains detailed records of procedures and experiments.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Strong background in animal models and mammalian tissue culture is preferred.
Prior background in biochemistry and molecular biology is also desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and ability to publish scientific research papers/articles.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is also essential.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
