: We are seeking a R&D S&E, Geosciences Engineer Applies integrated technical judgment\-\-which requires using the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems, to collect data through observation and experimentation, and to formulate and test hypotheses\-\-to anticipate, innovate, and deliver solutions to Sandia National Laboratories missions\. Roots the work in the fundamentals of science and engineering while applying a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles\. Creates and applies scientific theories and laws and engineering methods used within scientific and engineering disciplines to develop or demonstrate new designs, concepts, materials, machines, products, processes, or systems\. Uses physical and computational simulation, analysis, and evaluation as inherent activities of development\. Plans, conducts, and executes Sandia's science and engineering programs within the spectrum of fundamental research, development, or demonstration\. Conducts research in geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and geospatial engineering\. Studies composition and structure of rocks, minerals, sediments, and fossil remains to identify and determine sequence of processes affecting development of earth's crust\. May include study of extraterrestrial rocks and minerals\. Applies knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics to explain these phenomena\. Applies geological knowledge to engineering in support of Sandia's mission\. Work may include issues in hydrology, hydrogeology, geophysics, and seismology\. Required: + Master's degree in geohydrology, applied mathematics, civil engineering or relevant discipline plus two or more years experience; or doctorate in geohydrology, applied mathematics, civil engineering or relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.+ Experience in numerical modeling of groundwater flow and radionuclide transport\.+ Experience \(and/or education\) must include development of conceptual and numerical models, model calibration and uncertainty quantification, pre\- and post\-processing of large real\-world datasets, both statistical and model\-based data analysis, hydrogeologic interpretation, and reporting to non\-experts in hydrology\.+ Demonstrated excellence in the technical field as well as superior oral and written communication skills are mandatory, as is the ability to function effectively within a diverse team\.
